DIANE Von Furstenburg

I enjoy checking out the new collections of designers during Fashion Week, but I have to admit, I love checking out the hair and makeup more. I find that getting inspired by runway looks is fun. I try to copy the looks I like and test them out when I go out to dinner.

If you’re suffering from a beauty rut, jump-start your beauty makeover. Most of the time all you really have to do is change your hair (even just how and where you part it); you don’t even need to change your wardrobe. Not only is it fun, it is less expensive.

Here are some looks fresh off the runway that are easy to do, but guarantee big impact.

If you think you’re always too made up, let your hair down and let Chloe’s look inspire you. This amazingly fresh look is quite simple: loose hair with soft waves, fixed brows and clear skin. The fastest way to get this type of soft waves is to twist your hair in a bun while it’s still wet and dry with a blow drier. Once dry, release the bun and voila!

Apparently, the makeup artist for this look emphasized the brows by brushing it up and filling in with color if needed.

Personally, I like using MAC’s brow fix to do this and I feel I don’t need to color in since it already adds to the thickness of the lashes.

STELLA McCartney

Stylists also used MAC Strobe on the cheeks as an illuminator. If you already have an illuminator, you may add a peachy color to finish the look.

Since my skin doesn’t go well with peach shades, I use my L’Oreal gloss that’s more on the pink side.

The trick when copying a look is to make it your own. You don’t have to buy the exact shade that was used on the model; in fact, I recommend just using products you know suit you already.

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney’s look is simple, strong and fun at the same time. The hair is just tied without being combed, then fixed as a bun on the back.

Like Chloe’s look, the skin is kept clean and eyebrows groomed. The stylists applied a coat of Cover Girl Lashblast 24-Hour Mascara followed by a blue pigment gel.

Make this look your own by using any colored mascara. I’m not talking about black or brown but a fun shade like green, purple or blue, like used on the runway.

For the hairdo, choose a shade related to your eye shadow. A lot of brands carry colored mascara such as Makeup Forever and Shu Uemura. You may test it out first in the counter and ask for assistance to get a second opinion.

CHLOE

Using colored mascara may seem out there at first but it is actually more subtle than using these shades as an eye shadow. In fact, this is a fast day-to-night look. Just add the same color eye shadow at night to strengthen your look.

It’s all about parting your hair. That’s what was seen on Diane Von Furstenburg models. It was sleek, sharp and powerful.

Stylists used Phyto Professional Wet Gel and the low pony was tied in a bun. Lightly applied silvery gray eye shadow was then used on the eyes and a little blush and lip stain finished the look.

Try parting your hair and what a change it will do to your look. Most of the time small changes get you a long way. Try new things now.
