Things have become better for Lamitan in Basilan since the siege in 2001. It seems to have recovered from the incident and a host of socio-economic problems it suffered in the past.
The works of award-winning director Hou Hsiao-Hsien will be featured in this year’s Taiwan Film Festival, whose third installment will be held at the Shang Cineplex (Edsa Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City), Aug. 3-6.
