The countdown to one of the most entertaining shows of the year is on as Karpos Multimedia opens 2014 with Grammy Award-winning French indie pop band Phoenix. The group will perform at the World Trade Center in Pasay Ciy on Jan. 21, 2014.
Noel Bazaar, the long-running Christmas shopping event in the city, will open Nov. 22 at World Trade Center in Pasay City. It will run until Dec. 1 and will feature a wide array of gift and personal items from various merchants.
For the most part, it all felt like a dream. To many Filipino fans, Bloc Party playing right in front of their eyes was just an idea buried within the deep recesses of their mind. More so, the band sharing the stage with their Filipino “counterpart,” Up Dharma Down (UDD).
When the hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in New York on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, I was in Manila, over 8,000 miles away. My last class at the university had just finished and as I was getting ready to go home, I received a text message from a friend telling me about the attacks.
There are moments in life that take place on the most ordinary of days, but we never forget them. Such was 9/11.
