Sweet inspiration

MAKE My Magnum signature combinations

We asked people to share with us their Magnum creations. “The Magnum Brian—honeycomb crunch, two scoops of Speculoos and a pinch of salt on a vanilla Magnum dipped in dark chocolate. Magnum Brian 2 is vanilla ice cream dipped in dark chocolate with potato chips, chili flakes and grape Nerds. It’s a really mind-blowing experience. It sounds wrong—it’s sweet, salty and spicy and sour but just try it. Don’t think, just eat.”—Brian Chanyungco, Magnum brand manager

Super recalls favorite scenes from Bruno Mars’ Manila concert

By
BRUNO Mars and The Hooligans were a blast. JILL LEJANO

Bruno Mars’ time onstage at his Mall of Asia Arena concert last week felt much too short. In retrospect, his work as a singer-songwriter is so awesome that we were just aching for him to sing all the tracks from his two albums (2010’s “Doo-Wops and Hooligans” and 2012’s “Unorthodox Jukebox”), plus the single “It Will Rain” (from the soundtrack of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn— Part 1.” It was highly unlikely, but fans can dream.

Mad for Min Ho

Crowd goes wild when Lee Min Ho appears. PHOTO BY RUTH NAVARRA

Lee Min Ho looked like he just stepped out of the TV screen. That was the first thought I had when he walked towards me backstage at the recent Benchsetter Fun Meet at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Why? He still sported his hairstyle from “The Heirs”—short at the back, straight bangs across his eyebrows, exactly how Kim Tan, his character in the romantic comedy series, looked like.

By
LEINIL Yu with Iron Man. PHOTO BY RUEL S. DE VERA

It’s amazing, uncanny and mighty that Marvel Comics commemorates its 75th anniversary in 2014 with the “House of Ideas” having unleashed the likes of Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Avengers, Iron Man and X-Men throughout that time and tracing its origins to 1939’s “Marvel Comics” No. 1. This year also brings the newest addition to the Marvel Studios cinematic universe: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The new movie, which has Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers, is a sequel to 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
