IT SEEMS THE COUNTRY will not forget easily.

On Jan. 25, former President Cory Aquino would have celebrated her 77th birthday. The country that will not easily forget its People Power President, who, in death, became a symbol of the Filipino?s hope in the future, will celebrate Aquino?s birthday, in part, by launching a watch named after her and designed by a giant of business and industry.

Jaime Zobel, the industrialist who?s also made a name in photography, has designed a Cory Aquino Swatch limited edition to be launched Jan. 24 at Ayala Museum.

In an exclusive interview with Inquirer (to be run next Sunday), Zobel recalled how designing this Swatch right after Aquino?s death last August proved to be an emotional experience for him.

?This project has been so special to me,? he said, perhaps even more special than the Centennial Swatch Limited Edition he designed in 1998, because Aquino had had a strong bond with the captain of industry and his wife Bea?a bond that survived through the decades, indeed through the twists and turns of recent Philippine history.

The Cory Aquino Swatch Limited Edition comes in a unique package?a book on Aquino titled ?A Woman Dressed in Sunshine? containing a touching introduction by Teddyboy Locsin and photos of Aquino through historic and personal moments.
