Let’s kick-start the holiday season with the adage “Good things come in little packages,” with these little reindeer and pine tree ornaments made of some wine bottle corks and barbecue sticks most households have.
For the reindeer,
you’ll need:
For the head and body: two wine corks
For the nose: one red round head pin
For the eyes: two small black round head pins
Four barbecue sticks
For the legs: Cut sticks into four pieces, two inches in length with one sharp end each.
For the neck: Cut a one-inch piece with one sharp end; for the antlers, two pieces two inches in length each, with one sharp end
Cut four ¾-in pieces; using a glue gun, attach two to the side of the longer sticks, just like in the photo.
Glue gun
Push in the sharp edges of the sticks for legs into one cork. Make sure they are equal in length so it can stand alone.
Push in the stick for the neck on the top part of the cork.
Taking the other cork for the head, push in the two round black pins for the eyes and the bigger red one for the nose.
Attach the head by pushing it into the neck.
Attach the antlers by pushing them into the head.
For the tree:
One wine cork
One small pine branch
Make a little hole at the center of one end of the cork, just enough for the pine branch stem to be pushed in.
Push in the branch and secure with the glue gun.
