The air route between Los Angeles and San Francisco is set to be the busiest corridor over the United States’ Thanksgiving this year, says OAG.
Air data company OAG has released a ranking of the top five most popular domestic routes for the holiday period, looking at routes with the highest demand, based on total seat capacity.
With about 46,390 seats, LAX to SFO tops the list, followed by Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Orlando International Airport (ATL – ORD) and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Rounding out the top five routes are John F. Kennedy International Airport to Los Angeles (JFK – LAX) and LaGuardia International Airport in New York to Orlando International Airport.
With 3.2 million departing seats, Nov. 21 is set to be the busiest travel day in the U.S. while Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and LAX are expected to be the busiest airports over the holiday.
The busiest domestic airlines? American and Southwest Airlines share that title, with each carrier offering more than 2 million seats over the holiday weekend. JB
