Inquirer Lifestyle and LOOKbook’s 2017 Face-Off OOTD Cebu Edition had quite a fitting finale at SM Seaside City Cebu last Sept. 27: show hosts and Swatch brand ambassadors Matteo Guidicelli and Luis Manzano carried a larger-than-lifesize image of the world-famous Cebu lechon. And the audience gave it a rousing applause.
The much-awaited branch will be located at Yakal corner Talisay Street at San Antonio, Makati, which is just a few meters behind Makati Fire Station in Ayala, Avenue.

IN 2008, American celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain hailed Cebu lechon as “the best pig ever.” In recent years, Filipino chef Dedet de la Fuente has been satisfying the curiosity of people abroad on what makes her own take on roasted suckling pig stand out.
In almost any occasion in the country, lechon is a must. I remember it was a staple in my grandparents’ house during Christmas and other major celebrations.
The Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa held a grand opening of its new main outlet, Tides, with a record attendance by Cebu’s luminaries. Presiding the dressy event was the resort’s general manager Marco Vazzoler who welcomed the guest of honor, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza.
Cebu Lechon has introduced a whole new way of roasting pig. Today, most lechon are cooked in a similar way. Out of this creativity, many other great-tasting lechon have entered the market. In the end, foodies and consumers are the beneficiaries.
