This February, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (Peta) once again partners with the British Council to give local professional theater practitioners the opportunity to experience world-class training with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Rada).

The case of 29-year-old actor Jonathan Tadioan playing the role of 63-year-old Willy Loman in Tanghalang Pilipino’s production of “Pahimakas sa Isang Ahente”—Arthur Miller’s classic “Death of A Salesman” translated into Filipino by Rolando Tinio—can very well be the theater curiosity of the season.
Every year, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (Peta) brings together theater aspirants and stage performer hopefuls to take their first step into the theater world through the Workshop Weekends.
This October, the Philippine Educational Theater Association’s all-male production of “Haring Lear” will tour Taiwan, while the Full House Theater Company’s staging of “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” will tour Singapore. (Full House is the newly established theater company of Resorts World Manila.)
Earlier this year, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (Peta) opened its doors for aspiring stage performers through their annual Workshop Weekends. Different people, from college students to young professionals flocked to the Peta Theater Center to enroll in various courses ranging from Theater Arts to the more advanced courses like Basic Acting and Creative Musical Theater.
