CHERIE GIL SWEARS SHE WILL NEVER undergo any cosmetic surgery. ?I had Botox two years ago and my mom said, ?You look like Cher!??

At 46, the seasoned actress who is famous for glamorous villain roles had her share of lines and wrinkles which eventually bothered her because they made her look older than she really is.

?I had deep furrows which made me seem fiercer than I really am!? she laughs. ?I can?t get out of being a contravida even when I am not performing.?

She admits the age marks are also caused by smoking?a habit she has been trying to break for the longest time.

?I have been smoking since I was a teen. I have tried everything, but the only time I stopped was when I was pregnant and breast-feeding. I would like to encourage everyone to not even pick up the habit. I admire those people who were able to quit. Smoking has made my skin dull and dry, and has also affected my voice.?

Gil is preparing for a stage musical, and she hopes this role would inspire her to cut the ?cigs? altogether. For her skin, she goes through non-surgical treatments from Facial Care Center (FCC) to make her look fab and ready for show biz commitments.

?FCC is a more conservative beauty house. It doesn?t have injections, surgeries, medications,? Gil says. ?And I have done a lot of treatments here.?

Anniversary

FCC (www.facialcarecentre.com.ph) recently celebrated its 27th anniversary. The skincare center has been popular for innovative technologies to safely and effectively treat a variety of beauty issues, minus harsh products or harmful procedures.

She credits FCC for giving back her glowing skin. One of her favorites is ReFirme, a 45-minute painless, non-invasive lifting treatment that smoothens out wrinkles and firms up skin. And the best thing about it?you can see results as early as the first treatment.

?I have had ReFirme for two years. It?s like an instant facelift without the needles and stitches. It makes my cheeks rosy and plump. I usually have it before big gigs like press cons, pictorials, awards night,? Gil shares. ?I also had Advanced Lasertone, which increases the skin?s collagen and elastin production to delay signs of aging.?

Gil says all of the treatments she had made her feel comfortable with them. They are not time-consuming and are perfect for her hectic lifestyle.

No downtime

?Another one I am having regularly is Renew,? she says in a recent interview for FCC?s anniversary.

?Compared with other anti-aging treatments, Renew is less painful, less messy and less time-consuming. You can even put makeup on after 24 hours after a session.?

Renew is a combination of infrared and bipolar radio frequency which targets acne scars, blemishes, pockmarks and sun-damaged skin. While you would experience some stinging, it requires no anesthesia and has minimal downtime.

Gil says she is more of a fun-loving kind of mom to kids Jay, 23; Bianca, 14; and Rafael, 12. If she?s to give a beauty advice to her daughter, it would be to religiously moisturize and to never fail to apply sunscreen.

You can watch Gil in the soap ?Katorse? on ABS-CBN Channel 2. She says she gets fit for her role by working out thrice a week and maintaining a sensible diet.

?FCC is for people like Cherie who don?t want to go under the knife but want better-looking skin. We have in-house doctors and skin consultants to make sure clients get the right treatment for them,? says Dr. Shirley Samson-Valdez, cosmetic and pathologic dermatologist. ?And we also have For Men for guys who want clear youthful skin.?
