THE CHARMING and dynamic Marriott general manager Richard Saul and other hot executives of Marriott welcomed the eye-catching birthday gal Mayenne Carmona at the hotel lobby, making her feel special and truly the Disco Queen for a night, dahlings. The theme was ?Nostalgia? at swinging Marriott?s Velocity Bar, which was turned into a disco, reminiscent of the ?80s and ?90s disco scene, dahlings. Credit definitely goes to attractive mover and shaker, Mitch Garcia, Marriott?s director of communications and marketing, no less, who took pains in giving the place a true disco ambiance, palanggas.
Louie Ysmael, Manila?s disco king, breezed in with his statuesque stylish lady, Cecile, the excellent chef of Silk, Terrace and her latest Thaipan in Quezon City, palanggas. Both led the pack of party shakers for Mayenne C., who was wow in a red Silk Cocoon bustier. Her mates in Manila, New York and Paris came in full force, shaking the dance floor to intensity nine.
In lieu of gifts, our philanthropic hostess asked for donations to her favorite charity, the KLM Village at Gawad Kalinga.
Velocity Bar?s DJ brought back the music of the ?80s and ?90s. Wolf Blass bubbly and wines, marketed by Premiere Wines and Spirits and Manny O. Wines kept us all euphoric all night long, dahlings.
GMA 7 and Channel Q covered the happening, with no less than GMA 7 assistant to the president Rod Cornejo and his wife Vangie. Moi couldn?t miss seeing Sen. Bongbong Marcos with son Sandro, Gov. Chavit Singson with special lady Josephine Pintor, Tourism Undersecretary Cynthia Carrion doing the boogie like there was no tomorrow. Meanwhile, businessman Dody Puno couldn?t let go of his adorable, gorgeous companion, founder of beauty essentials O.N.E. Naturales, cyber-smart Charade Galang, who was looking wow that night. Seeing all those faces brought back memories of our unbelievable partying during the disco era, palanggas.
DFA daycare center
The inauguration and turnover of the DFA Daycare Center was an awesome, heartwarming ceremony, dahlings. The whole Department of Foreign Affairs pack was represented, from Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo to the rank, plus the children who will benefit from these excellent facilities.
The Center was relocated from a small room to a bigger space that used to be the Office of Consular Affairs at the DFA Building. Over P450,000 of expansion and renovation of the Center was underwritten by the Consular Corps of the Philippines. Overall chairman and head of three organizations Rosie Lovely Romulo requested Guatemala Consul and philanthropist Amelia R. Ablaza, dean of the Corps, to sponsor the project, palanggas.
Consular Corps members donated P50,000 each, while others donated up to P10,000 each, palanggas.
The Consular Corps? First Gentleman, Zambia Consul Luis I. Ablaza Jr., took care of the balance by contributing a cool P200,000 with his pals: Engr. Magno C. Vito and Engr. Michael M. Tuliao.
The children of DFA employees are enrolled at the Daycare Center while their parents who work in the same building presented entertainment numbers as their way of saying ?thank you? to all their benefactors. Bravo to all of you who care with a golden heart, palanggas.
Hot party at Nuvo
It was one of those nights that had Greenbelt 2?s original Bar and Resto Nuvo?s main floor so packed that it overflowed into the cool al fresco area.
Another successful event as usual brought to us by PR maven Cacay Moras, palanggas. It was a treat for our senses as the musical stylings of the gorgeous gang of three, Mia Ayesa, Ornusa Cadness and Sanya Smith kept it eclectic hot and swinging, dahlings. There was an endless toasting of booze. You name it, we drank it for the birthday celebrators Jose Moreno, Mariko Jacinto, Sam Sy and Sanya Smith. The night got even hotter when Bulgari and Guerlain gifted the lucky four with cologne and makeup in addition to the scrumptious cakes prepared by Nuvo?s talented chef Roderick Sarpio, no less. Completing the whole experience were excellent Hennessy cocktails which gave everyone the perfect buzz for a perfect night.
Hey, now you can pick any reason to dine, drink or party at Nuvo. Di bala, palanggas.
