It was a great occasion for Cebu’s crème de la crème to meet the genial Veloso. He made it a point to chat and exchange pleasantries with everyone who attended.
Cebu welcomed the visit of Madame Evelin Ilves, first lady of the Republic of Estonia, who came to spend a weeklong holiday at the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa. A welcome dinner for her was held at the Cebu Provincial Capitol. The red carpet was literally laid out for her from the street to the stately portals.
The initials “UUU” stand for Japanese words that translate as “Music Unites the World.” The UUU Project of Japan was founded in October 2011 for the purpose of giving free classical music concerts to the children of Cebu. The first show was held in February 2012.
The entrance of the Water Snake, and all its portents of economic prosperity, was celebrated with particular relish all over Cebu, especially by its leading hotels and resorts. All were spectacular in their own special ways.
